ABSTRACT
Overweight and obesity have become an important health problems on a global scale. The article discusses the effect of overweight and obesity on the prevalence of ischemic heart disease, hypertension, lipid disorders and diabetes mellitus type 2. The basic health recommendations concerning physical activity as the main method of the treatment of obesity and its complications are also briefly presented.
