The article focuses on the health consequences of migration. It also shows the health risk for the receiving countries regarding the inflow of immigrants and the health risk for immigrants in the host country. The discussion is based on a literature review concerning the functioning of immigrants on the labour market in the host countries, taking into account the nature and conditions of employment and barriers to the use of health care by immigrants. According to the literature review, the health risk is associated with the segmentation of the labour market available to different groups of immigrants, with the specificity of sectors exposed to the risk of accidents and poisoning in which migrants work, low socio-economic status combined with the trauma of everyday life, and the
lack of access to medical care by some of the unregistered immigrants. The article also emphasises the need for research into the health of immigrants in Poland due to the risk of immigration from the Ukraine to Poland.
