W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badania dotyczącego problemu (zagadnienia) komunikowania się pacjentów z chorobą Alzheimera z otoczeniem

The essence of Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive impairment of brain function in the clinical image of dementia syndrome. Apart from a clear loss of memory, there also occur disorders concerning speech, perception, recognition, time and space orientation, criticism, and planning of own activities. As a result, there occur problems with communication with the surroundings. The subject of the study was the evaluation of speech disorders among patients with Alzheimer’s disease by a researcher and caregiver. Language-communication efficiency was evaluated from the following four aspects: phonology, syntax, lexical-semantic, contents, and pragmatic. On this basis, a method of coping with such communication difficulties was developed. The implemented model was subject to evaluation by caregivers, and the results additionally presented as a proposal for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and for their families.
